After being in place for more than three years, the World Health Organization has declared Covid-19 is no longer a global health emergency.
But that includes a caveat - the virus is here to stay.
It is a major step towards the official end of the pandemic that has killed millions of people, ravaged communities and disrupted the world's economy.
It will now be up to governments to manage the outbreak any way they think best.
So, what lessons have been learned from one of the most devastating diseases in history?
