Ismail Thawabta, the director general of the government media office in Gaza, says hospitals and medical facilities in the enclave provide "nothing but healthcare services".
"The false allegations propagated by the Israelis that these facilities are housing military infrastructure are false, groundless, and baseless," he told reporters.
Thawabta called on the international community to "exercise pressure" to get Israeli forces to end their siege on al-Shifa Hospital, which has been subjected to a days-long Israeli military raid.
Healthcare providers have "repeatedly demanded" that international organisations form technical teams to carry out inspection visits to all medical facilities "in order to refute the false allegations raised by the Israelis", he said.
